It’s not everyday you get to photograph your best friend’s maternity session. I was so excited about shooting this weeks before it happened, and boy it did not disappoint. From the very first frame we got a completely random “shower” of rain for literally 2 minutes (If you look closely at the first two images you can see the rain:) ). Just enough to wet Colbi’s hair and make her natural curls around her face all come to life. At first she was a little disappointed, but as I got going through the images, she and I decided we may like them even better. They are 100% natural and all her. Chris and Colbi have been my husband and I’s best friends for almost fifteen years, so to see the two of them prepare to be parents is just the coolest thing in the world. After her outfit change and getting the final field image I was satisfied with, we were wrapping up and she asked if a silhouette shot was possible. But unfortunately, the sun was not quite bright enough nor had it set yet, and the field did not allow a bare background behind her for light to shine through. I promised her we had plenty of awesome stuff so we decided to call it quits. However, on our drive home, after I had dropped her off at her car, we were both headed home and I called her and said “Where are you, look at the sun now! It’s perfect!” So I told her to meet me on this random access road I had luckily just exited, and saw a side road we could both pull over. She met me there within five minutes, and we got our absolute perfect sunset and silhouette shots to complete her perfect session 🙂
Oh I just can’t wait to meet this sweet bundle of joy!!! Let the countdown begin!
